Youth Groups
please organise yourselves around 1 single pc !
The OpenSpace-Online Method is designed for high quality and rapid communication between online participants. It is not functional that a group discusses in front of the screen what to say / write next, as this slows down and confuses communication through loss of context.

Therefore groups are asked to streamline their communication by, for example, appointing a single representing person only per conference block (appr. 30-45 minutes). If you choose this "mixed" participation mode, please be aware that the communication-format is not very practical for a large group "watching" the written conversation in the position of an audience for extensive period of time. Following the conference in total may however be facilitated by using a beamer.
Finally, youth groups should register under their "group name" to facilitate identification in case of mixed representation during the conference.

Please consult us per e-mail, if you are unsure how to apply the method in group circumstances, do not hesitate to discuss practical solutions with us per email or telephone (+49 (0) 30 - 69 53 64 69.

Thank you very much for your attention,
we are looking forward to your participation !

2. In a nutshell
Introduction to OpenSpace-Online Conferencing

. . .

OpenSpace-Online has been developed according to the principles of OpenSpace Technology: a most effective communication format for co-creative problem-solving and aim-oriented group processes. COMMON INTEREST in a higher question or theme is the sole determining factor prompting participants to take part in the conference. There is no predetermined agenda. The participants organize the session agenda themselves by introducing their questions and issues.

No external online-moderator is needed. COMOSO, the virtual Facilitator guides all participants simply through the conference process. Therefore, in OpenSpace-Online, it is the participants who are the experts (see the principles below).

The OpenSpace-Online conference system makes it possible for about 5 to 75 persons from all over the world, motivated by their own interests and self-organization to meet quickly and at any time to work together in a goal and solution-oriented manner. A code of values based on respect and responsibility forms the foundation for an autonomous and appreciative "working-together". Once the conference is completed each participant receives a complete documentation of the the conference at the klick of a button.

OpenSpace-Online is based on 4 basic principles:

First principle:
Whoever comes is the right people

Second principle:
Whatever happens is the only thing that could have happened

Third principle:
When it starts is the right time

Fourth principle:
When it's over it's over

3. Differences to Face2Face Conferencing
.

Dialogue Quality differs from Face2Face meetings, as anyone would imagine. However, experience shows that the loss of emphatic communication is made up by very important qualities:
+ anybody may talk-write at any time
+ "strong egos" cannot dominate others
+ shy persons find it easier to participate
+ people can follow various dialogues simultaneously
+ no need to look fine, smile and wait
+ everybody saves on travel money
+ slow writing or poor spelling are no obstacle at all :-)
